Same bike with PCIII and custom tune-which helped immensely btw. It's spring in the Bay Area so temps are going up to bout 65-70 day-little cooler right on the coast. Reg highyway-back road riding she varies btwn 165-190. Soon as I get to a few lights or slow traffic-up she goes to 210+ then the fans kick in and she settles down to a steady 220-225. Soon as I get some open road back down to 175-180. Oh, just as the fans kick in the eobd light flickers on and then off. Italian for get this baby moving!
I know that my 999 w/ a full Termignoni titanium exhaust runs about 10-12 degrees cooler than my buddies 999 w/ stock exhaust. If you get rid of the cats you'll loose the under seat roasting and your engine will run much cooler. His stock set up roasts his fanny! Mine seat is cool! WE run the same temps at 160 exactly, then as the engine reaches the 190-200+ I'm always 10-12 coole than his at this temperature mark and above!.
