Put a 999 away for the winter last year and had it on a trickle charger. Ran fine when I put it away and it started right up when I took it out. But as soon as I click it down into first the bike shuts off. Does the same thing if I go up to second instead. Clutch is pulled in and as soon as I click into gear it shuts off. Clutch seems to be engaging fine...any ideas? There are no error codes or anything like that on the instrument screen. Runs, idles, everything seems fine except for that.

I was just thinking about that...there's an Aprilia here that has a light that stays on that doesn't go off until the sidestand goes up and I just thought of it when I went to move it. I'll take a look...

We have a winner...I'll have to take the side panel off and put it back on...looks like the switch housing was coming off a bit, it's loose.
