999 oil cooler R & R

Question: I am going to remove and replace the oil cooler on my 999. I just changed the oil, would imagine I could just remove the lines, oil cooler and install the new one, re-attach the lines. A little oil will come out and I can catch that and refill. Otherwise is it better to drain oil, do the job and refill w/ oil again? Anybody do this recently?

Thanks for the reply......good idea, taking lines off engine first. I hate to lose all that new synthetic mobil though. I just hate putting oil back in once drained.
