Went and looked at a used 999 today. Drove it very conservatively on suburban streets. Ran well but noticed this bent rim as I looked it over. A surprise to the (original) owner. He was unaware. I would think the owner would remember hitting whatever caused this, or am I wrong? Front rim had only minor scratches, no bends I could see. Straighten? Replace? Keep looking as the owner should know more about the bike than the potential buyer?

I never like when I point things out to the owner and they are surprised. Looks like a new rear rim goes for $1600.

You can almost get a set of Forged aluminum Marchesini wheels for that amount...
