Hi all,

I need to machine a new ride height link to fit 998RS, does anyone know what the length of the link is compared to th eEOM road link?

Cheers Moz

It would be the same as the 998 chassis, so picking up a 916-998 rear ride height rod wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks guys, but I need to know the length as I'm turning my own.

Cheers
FWIW... 749R rod is 170mm without the heim joints... the heim joints and locknuts make up 60mm; so a 749R link can go down to 230mm at it's shortest. I can't vouch that tye's assumption about this measurement being the same as a 998RS is correct.

The 916/748 one I am looking at is 194mm ( link only)

Davey, what link are you chasing that's that length? RS or 748R? Did the 748R use a magnesium swing arm like it's bigger brother?

The lenght is important if you use a RS's rocker arm with 2 positions.

The progressive position ( upper hole)could be use witht the OEM ride height link (190mm)

With the linear position, you must use a 749R ride height (168mm) or a RS link (164mm).

Cheers ;)

+1 Page from the RS manual:
164.5mm or 190mm if you are using the upper hole (more progresive) assuming you have an RS link, you are talking about the link rod not the link. Some RS's came with a single hole which would be the less progresive position so use 16.5mm. 138 to 144 was the ride height window we used in AMA in 2002 with Doug Chandler on the HMC 998RS.
The eye ends are much beefier too, think are 12x1.25 instead of 10mm.
