I have a 2004 998s FE that I believe has a faulty ECM. The identification numbrs are 998DUCATI014 and then S20DH045. These numbers differ from the stock ECM S16DH023 from what I can see. The bike is stock except for a Remus Grand Prix exhaust. Is this a specifically flashed ECM for that exhaust and where would I get one of these for replacement? Thanks

The 998DUCATI014 # denotes the stock ECU for a US spec 998/998s. The Remus "exhaust" may only be cans and the ECU may have (probably not) been upgraded by flashing.

So the different designation S20DH045 does not indicate a different flash. Is the only way to tell if it has been re-flashed then is to have the dealer look at the map. Is that correct? Thanks
