Has anyone tried to fit 996 fairings to a 998? I know it would be a hack job but I would be using them for the track.

Thanks for any input,

Dave

You will just need to cut away part of the inner section of the air scoops on each side to clear the ignition coils mounted on the frame - a simple dremmel job. I put some medium gauge mesh over the resulting gap, mounted with silicone, to reduce the amount of gravel that ends up inside the fairing from a track off.

I may also be necessary to enlarge the aperture underneath the fairing to clear the 50mm pipe and deep sump (if its a Euro 998s).

I've used 748 fairings on my tuned 998 at the track for years - lots of fun before I changed the stickers.

Its possible, but as said above.. The ignitioncoils are in the way of the big airvent.

You can either relocate the ignitioncoils or cut the scoop open to accomodate the coils.
