after an oil and spark plug change my bike is having some erratic backfiring.

In any gear if it's high revving no problem but if I'm just cruising I'm getting more then my normal share of backfiring.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.:D

996 back firing

I fully understand that an oil change doesn't cause back firing...just added to list of things I did...LOL

Maybe changing to a high performance spark plug might of thru something off.

Just asking.

oil changes don't cause backfires lol... neither do plugs...

mixture is probably off

996 back firing

Champion Performance Racing "surface plugs" I bought on Ebay from a spot called Ducati Depot.

Only draw back w/ plugs being hight performance is they have a shorter life span, needing to be changed out w/ oil change.

they have no gap, the top of the spark plug is flat w/ the firing head set in the middle flush w/ the top of the plug.

It was my first time seeing this type...and it said "High Performance" and we all how we all want our bikes to be in fit shape, so I said why not and give it a try.

About the o2 sensor hole plug falling off, I'm going to have to look in my Haynes manual to locate the sensor.

I greatly appreciate the suggestions. :abduct:

What kind of plugs and what gap?
