I am baffled at how to remove the circular choke assembly. It looks like there are 2 plastic pins on the choke assembly that fits into the bracket that holds the clutch MC to the handlebar. I tried pulling pretty hard to separate the two pieces with no luck. I am afraid of breaking something. I would greatly appreciate some advice!

2 flat blade screws from the grip side screw into the master cylinder.

do you need to unhook the choke cable and rotate the plastic lever thingy around until the slots in it line up with the retaining lips and slip it off to expose the screws? i forget now.

thank you guys! Seems the lever needs to be first removed from the rest of the choke assembly to expose the screws.
