ai recently bought a 2010 hayden 848 and so far i love the bike--there has been a few small issues but the dealer has been great---about 4 weeks ago, when cleaning the bike, i noticed that the paint in the groove of the tail section vents was splitting on me---the bike is kept in a warm garage with all my other bikes and has never had water on it---so i brought it to the dealership right away and at first they said they would order me a new tail section and i was happy with that---after not hearing back for 10 days i called them and they told me that the new tail was not possible but they wanted to know if it was ok if they had my brand new bike painted---i figured it is what it is and if the painter would stand behind his work i was fine with it---i i didnt hear back from them for about two weeks so i decided to call and they told me they havent decided what they are going to do with it and that paint codes for my bike do not exist---that was about a week ago and i still havent heard anything---i was wondering if anyone else had issues like this---or if anyone had any ideas to speed up the process--thanks--vince

If I'm not mistaken, most everything on your bike is composed of decals. There may be fields of paint, as in the blue and red, but the graphics appeared to be screen printed on vinyl and applied to the bodywork. If your dealer does not guarantee that the painter they recommend can pull it off correctly, then explore your options and make sure whatever you decide to do, they cover it money-wise.

If your dealer doesn't come up with a solution, you can get a 'sticker' guy to work up the scheme for you. Here's a couple that are known for doing great work:

Sounds like the dealership won't stand behind their product. I think it's a bunch of crap. It's about time to get ahold of Ducati USA. Let the dealership know that your not happy and want action taken now!

just wanted to update everyone on the situation---heard back from the dealership and they told me that they finally figured out that my bike has bright white on the tail section and not pearl white like the standard 848---im very happy it took them only a week to figure this out considering i told them 1,000 times the bike wasnt pearl white---this has been going on with zero resolve since sept. 17th and now its at the point where the service manager doesnt even return my phone calls---i left him voicemail monday and wednesday of this week to hopefully find a solution but nothing back---im getting a little tired of being polite and can say i wont be buying my next bike from that dealer

No worries, it is definitely time to contact DNA. They will step in and make your dealer do his job. Dealer sounds like he's either lazy or just concerned with new sales, not good for him.
