Well, I sold my classic to a buddy and picked up an White Monster 1100S today.

So maybe some of you can help me answer some initial questions I had...

Are the rear and front wheels/rotors interchangeable between the 848 and the Monster?

Then I started wondering if the Ohlins suspension would bolt up from the 1100S to my 848? They both use 43mm legs up front. Not sure whats going on out back though.

Any thoughts would be appreciated...

Yes, the wheels and rotors are a direct swap. I'm running a set off an 848 on my 1100S. I haven't researched any compatibility between suspension components.

You have more to consider than just diameter and rotor offset. The length of forks, how much travel they have, different internals, etc. You may want to check the model on the Monster forks. Ohlins usually stamps them on the inside of the lower bracket (ie FG315). Call Ohlins and ask them. They are pretty helpful.

Out of curiosity, why swap the forks?

Ah...good idea...I will try Ohlins.

The reason for the swap is that I have decided to use my 848 as my track bike and use the Monster for the street.

If I can swap the forks/rear shock between the two bikes, it would be a really nice upgrade to my 848 for the track.

I know that I personally wont use the "Ohlins" to their potential on the street...so if I can put them to better use on the track through my 848, well then that would be really cool.
