Hi All,

I have a 2005 800ss and am trying to install the Apex 3 inch bar risers. I read in this forum that a 2 or 3 inch rise is unrealistic, which is fine. I would be happy with just a minimal rise and higher bar angle.

Anyway so far the install seems to be going well except the choke cable seems too short. Has anyone else installed these riser before experienced the same issue? Did you just order a custom cable or did you find a way to reroute to gain more slack?

Thanks!

I have seen bikes where if you wanted to go to a 3 inch rise you had to replace--Throttle cables, Choke cables, Ft brake & clutch lines or cables. extend the wiring on both combo switches, brake light switch, clutch switch. ----The way to know for you is pull the tank and any plastic that is in the way --trace the wires back to the connectors & see if there are wire ties that can be removed to give you enough slack or re route the wires
