just bought this 996 and it has 6600 miles on it, i dont know if the 6k service was done. what needs to be done? i am an auto technician, and am going to try to do these things myself. thanks in advance.

being a bit older i'm sure you should do everything,belts ,filters,valve check,fluids change,clean clutch plates .then have the (tune up) done that will include balanceing throttles,tps,fuel mixture.

kaos post seems about right..

The belts aren´t strictly a 6K replacement, but I´d replace them regardless since you may not know how old they are.

Get a factory AND haynes manual if you plan to do everyting yourself. But Duc´s are pretty easy to tinker with (I´ve heard..:D)

Pull the cams and check the rockers for flaking
