Hello!

Well this past weekend my wife played hookie (sick) from work and we went to Eureka Springs Arkansas. What a trip and what a lovely place. If you havent been there and want a cool place to go riding and touring hit it up. The roads are unreal. I have some pics and videos. The roads werent too crowded. Honestly, i figured it was gonna be a pain in the ass with all the Harleys but we basically had the roads to our selves. We started out trip in Kansa City area. Enjoy!

Thread revival, but it's only 2 months old, so don't shoot me!

Having recently killed my 999 at the track (still painful to think about), I have decided that a Multistrada 1200 will be my next bike. A friend of mine who is thoroughly enjoying retirement owns (among other bikes) a 999 and a Pikes Peak MTS (and just finished a Pacific Coast tour on the MTS).

Several years ago I went on a group trip to Harrison AR, back when I owned a 900SS. As you stated, the roads in that region are amazing. Great pavement, great curves, great views, and for the most part, great people. It was cool to catch up to car traffic and have them slow and move to the right just to let us pass. While I completely enjoyed that outing, after I traded the 900SS for a 999 the only thing I wanted to spend my trip money on was track days. Also, with a 999 Warrensburg may as well be 1,000 miles away.

Perhaps when I find my new steed we can organize a mid-Missouri Multistrada ride?

Best Roads

My MC have done the Dragon twice, Lake of the Ozark's 3 or 4 times, but I tell you the best roads were in Arkansas around Eureka Springs especially. There wasn't a straight road the whole trip ;-). We head out to Colorado on Sunday for our first MC trip to the Rockies. We plan to ride Pike's Peak next Tuesday or Wednesday...

Desmo2, we actually have a MADOG (Mid-America Ducati Owners Group) ride headed to Eureka on the 7th-10th of Sept. So far we got about 6 people going. You're more than welcome. Check out Facebook MADOG group page. Im AiR Force Stationed at Whiteman and I live in Warrensburg. About 10 of us just got back from Indy.

@DanF not sure who that person is but nope. Havent seen that movie either but i'll have to watch it now. We did go to that hotel to check iut out tho. Nice place

@Nolan- I havent riden the Dragon and as nice as it may seem I dont reallt have the want to ride it. Iv'e seen way too many videos of it on Youtube and it just doesnt seem safe. with all the traffic, Squids, Semi's and rookies out there going way too fast for thier skills. I prefer to ride Arkansas and Ozarks that are less known with less crowds. Also they dragon just looks too tight to have fun comparied to Missouri, Ozarks with all of the elevation changes we have that are great. Maybe someday i'll head east to try it.

Go to Arkansas every holiday weekend and in between when I can. Always looking for someone to go with But have gone many times by myself). Us to ride out of Eureka but then discovered the real riding is south, south east and southwest of Harrison. Stay off of 7, 21 and 23 and look for the 3 digit roads like 423 out of Mt Judy (south and east of Jasper). Mt Judy is something to behold if you have never done it!

Heading down next Thursday if you would like to hook up. PM me anytime and were gone.

I have ridden out there a few times and always come home happy. I try to tell people about how nice the roads are out there but they seem to half listen. Oh well that just keeps the traffic down. Way better than the dragon area if you ask me.
