49.85 miles = 80,21 Kilometers
1 gallon = 3,785 Liters

that equals 4,718 liters of gas per 100 Km then, you are riding way too slow.

I have seen 60mpg with 41FCRs on the highway and taking it easy.

Yeah, well, we have speed limits here and I like having a driver's license.

Perhaps your new 1000DS is just a gas guzzler? :rolleyes:

hm, don't know, i never calculate how much fuel the bike needs,
i am used to run without speedometer and never really cared,
if the tank is empty, i just buy some gas.

the guy with 60mpg is pushing his bike aside the road, i'm sure.

mine gets 60 mpg cruising 80-85.[thats not kms.:eek::eek:] on a fast 3 day trip through the colorado rockies with beemers, triumphsand a couple of multisradas, the only bike with better mileage was the bmw 800st.i was the only guy with carbs.
