Mine runs perfect now, and I am the OP. Once fixed you will be good to go.
Did yours break down to the point where it wouldn’t run and throttle inputs would do nothing?
After reading your story I was hooked as everything you had happened to mine then mine decided to start holding itself at full throttle but then broke down..
When I get some news I will let folk know as if it’s the same problem but with a different twist it is a potentially very dangerous fault.
I’m kinda glad it broke down to be fair as there’s now no more dealers telling me it’s all in my head l.
Cheers

I am sure that eventually mine would've done that. It would just constantly stall off throttle. It sounds like your throttle bodies became so gunked up that they would not move. Mine was headed down that path as the problem got progressively worse. Show your dealer this thread. It sounds like the same issue.

Crazy isn’t it. I gotta say... I have had many new Harleys, BMW’s, Ducati’s and I can’t even count how many Japanese machines... I have had issues with almost every non Japanese machine and only one out of dozens of Japanese. My Africa Twin started switch failed a year out of warranty.... My dealer said it was a $200 part but Honda agreed to replace it free of charge... My Ducati dealer would say there was nothing wrong with it! 😂
They say it’s like being married to a supermodel having a Ducati 😂

I also have the new BMW s1000rr and that thing has been plagued with issues as well. Fortunately, both of my dealers have been great. For me, however, I just have that kind of luck. If I bought a bag of rocks, they would all be broken when I received them. 😁
What kind of issues are you having? Working on a race team and we are running the new 2020 s1000rr.

Update: My bike has had new throttle bodies fitted under warranty as apparently they were seized and couldn’t be moved by hand.
Bike rides great now. Phew got there in the end and now I will sell it..

Hopefully they will start acknowledging it soon to save people the hassle that we’ve all had to go through.
That being said they’ve now lost me as a customer as I can’t be dealing with that kinda crap on a brand new bike.
Shocking really and dangerous

You are exactly right. I had to seek legal counsel to get mine fixed. Never had an issue like this with a manufacture or dealer before. They are setting up for a wrongful death lawsuit when somebody’s bike stalls and causes a major wreck. Also, wiggle your chain guard... mine is loose. I have read that they have recalled them in some parts of the world but not here... Ridiculous...

funny you should say that as mine was replaced also as I thought it only fair that the dealer that helped me out should get the annual service out of it and they found the chain guard broken during the service And replaced that under warranty also.
I was very grateful to the dealer for their help In this situation and hope others don’t have to deal with the hassle.
Gonna sell it ASAP now though, it’s got the full termignoni on it so hopefully that helps it sell quick as I want out of it now.

Not trying to be critical, more curious. Surprised that you finally got the bike sorted and now you are gonna sell it? I would think this was the opportune time to go enjoy that perfectly running bike after spending all that time getting it fixed.

I get what you’re saying but the part it’s been replaced with is exactly the same as what failed and the original didn’t even last 3000 miles so I don’t want to be in this position again in 3000 miles and I’ve fallen out with the local dealers as they were rubbish so I don’t have any local places for servicing to be done.
Plus my view of the bike has been tainted now and I really have had enough of it.
