What is the price of the 2013 848 Corse SE?

I am waiting for the Pani 799 which I suspect will be avail in late spring early summer. I am guessing the prices will be the similar.

$15k? +$3k? Pretty steep but pretty bike, even though red is THE color for me, this one is growing on me...

Do you know for a fact a 799 is in the works or it's just wishful thinking?!

can't imagine you'll see a 799 in 2013. Suspect it'll be next EICMA in Nov 13 if it's gonna happen at all.

It's not going to be a 799. It'll be bigger than an 848.

You are confirming the development of a replacement for the 848 or just speculating? Why not a 750 to compete with the 600s?

You can't get much bigger than 848 and then you will be banging into the Pani @ 1200. (though, a detuned Pani motor similar to the 820 to create a SS/ST would be AWESOME!)

I would like to think that Ducati is looking at the Triumph and MV 675 triples and would want a bike that competes in the $14k space along with the other 600ish models. GXR-750 needs a friend so I am going to hold out hope for a 750cc until you can provide more details.

The pani was introduced mid year but I agree the 799 will prob not be avail early summer since the full line 848 Evo is still avail for 2013. I do think the Corse SE indicates that it is the last year for the 848.

I believe the price for the 848 Evo corse SE is going to be $14999.

Cool, even though I might not be able to purchase before mid 2013, do you how many unit are produced? Hopefully it'll still be available before summer.

Ducati could easily drop the base model Panigale and make the new bike near 1000cc. The 1200cc engine would therefore only be for S and R models.

This way a $16.5k, 1000cc small Panigale (160-ish hp) could be sold at a lower price point, and people with the money could get the $24k S model with the full 200 hp engine.

grunt

the thing holding me from a 799 would be an ever more noticable lack of grunt midrange...

if it is an issue on a 1200 - 195 bhp machine, it will even be more so on a 799..

if some ponder over this between the 1198 and the 1199, the 848 will hold an ever bigger edge...

this said, i think ducati will edge the difference out... the R already holds 15 bhp more midrange.. that is a big difference...
