2010 - 2014 Multistrada Rear Brake Hose Recall

Ran my 2013 VIN in the Ducati.com recall page. Came back with a recall on the rear brake hoses.

""Recall number: SRV-TSB-23-001 | : 00V-001 CHECK/REPL. OF REAR BRAKE HOSES MULTISTRADA 1200 MY 10-14""

Anyone have any more information on this?
Cheers

My 2014 VIN was a hit, too.
Ran my VIN, says I have a recall. Rear brake is basically worthless, I hope (but doubt....) this takes care of it.

Thanks for the link!
Looks like the recall was just issued, my 2011 is affected too.

Does anyone have a link to any Ducati documents explaining what the procedure is to fix? Would be odd to me if the "fix" identified was just to replace the hose. Either way, I'll get mine done some time this spring.

Hopefully the dealer doesn't also decide to toss the bleeder I've added at the ABS module when replacing the hose!
My '12 MTS/PP is also on the recall list but I'm reluctant to take it in since I really have no issues with the rear brake at present and the closest Duc dealer wasn't exactly a receptive place when I have visited in the past. Would the "fix" actually end up giving me the spongy rear brake problem so many seem to have? Maybe my lack of issues is related to my riding habit of rarely using the rear brake for much except holding the bike while stopped on a hill while I let out the clutch and get underway. Every bike I've ever ridden had such a vastly better performing front brake (except a '70 BSA Victor 441 for some reason) that I never felt the need for a high performance rear brake.
Does anyone know if this recall is being paid for by Ducati?

That's why I was asking if anyone had related documents. From what I could find from previous (similar) recalls on other Ducati models, Ducati only replaces the hose if the pedal movement is above a certain amount w/ 8kg of weight applied. So if the brake is working fine, they don't do anything.

My rear brake seems fine, although not super strong. I'm tempted to purposely introduce air to the system, if only to get the hose replaced with the updated one.

Same findings here; 1) Check, 2) Replace if required.

Guessing it's new enough that the documentation hasn't been widely circulated. Either that or my search-fu is weak.

I
Hell I've been waiting for this. My 12 PP has had ZERO rear brake since the day after I picked it up. 8kg of weight is gonna sink my pedal to the stops.

Sounds similar to the rear brake hose recall on my Monster. Damn Ducati and their rear brakes

My VIN was a hit, I just requested the service from my local dealer. My brake feels like about 25% of what a rear brake should, we'll see how it goes.
G'day lads,

In OZ so we are left to our own devices. Just did at 5000 km trip and had no rear brake at all by the end of it. I bled it before leaving home. I could use a part number for the hose up-grade so I can retro fit it to mine. For the OZ blokes, supers via a week in the snowies and the Oxley was interesting on the way home with no rear brake. I recon the fluid boiled out by about day 5. Rossco

Just had mine replaced brake still sucks.
i had the same issue where my rear brake would be completely gone pretty quickly after a full bleed on my 2012. I complained to my local dealership enough at the end of last riding season that they did a replace/repair and were able to get it covered by Ducati. Glad to see they are extending this, was a pretty horrible issue. There was also a post somewhere here in the past about filing a complaint with the appropriate transportation safety agency, wonder if enough people opening those tickets got some traction.
I got my bike back drone the shop today after the warranty work. Honestly the brakes feel the same, poor and ineffective. Weather sucks so it was a short ride straight home. I have a long trip upcoming and will test further as time allows.
