Evidently, my tach is shot. I don't have a dealer close by so I called a dealer about 1.5 hours away and they priced replacing the tach at $1,900, which if I remember correctly was $1,400 for the tach and $500 labor. I posted a WTB for a tach in classifieds but had 0 response. Any suggestions on an alternative? As part of installing a new/used tach, would it have to be programmed? Thanks!

the immo is in the dash, so anything s/h from another bike will have a coded immo and you'd need to get someone to fix that to have it work. new is the easiest option. if you want the immo to work when you fit a new dash you do a key coding procedure with your red and two black keys. otherwise it'll countdown every time you turn the key on.
