I have a 2000 Monster 900Sie that is experiencing some problems. The bike starts, although the idle speed seems a little weak (around 1000rpm). I can rev the bike without issue and the engine sounds strong at the higher RPMs. But once I put it in gear and start moving, it immediately wants to die, almost as if it switches to firing on one cylinder. But again, at the higher RPMs it seems fine. I also hear popping at lower RPMs (misfires, I guess).

What the heck would cause problems at low RPMs? What can I look for?

Thanks!

I looked around a couple of places (this forum, Google, other forums), and it looks like this could be caused by quite a few things. Clogged injectors, imbalanced throttlebodies, coils, etc.

I'm guessing that I'll have to take it to the dealer to have them run the diagnostics. I don't have any of that equipment. Oh well. Now I just have to figure out how to get it to the dealer.

Call the dealer and see if they offer a pick up service. Sometimes its free, sometimes there is a fee, and I tip the driver.
