I thought I would start a new rebuild thread. I've owned this monster for around 3 plus years now. It started life as a bog stock 2000 900sie with ohlins rear.
I rebuilt it from the ground up adding some bling along the way. Was a very fun bike. This year riding through the hills I crashed going over a 4 metre drop.
Bike was written off. I found a new frame from a 1997 600 monster. Australia you need a ADR compliance plate to register so I couldn't get a frame from overseas which would have been easy.

There is a few small differences with brackets but nothing major.
I will try and update when possible to show the build along the way. I started today by stripping down the old frame and trial fitting new frame.
Next step will be fabricating all the brackets onto the new frame then powder coating.
Any questions ask away.
Ride Safe

Where it all began

First Mods, tank got changed rear seat cowl, front mud guard

After the crash, have more basically alot of rash on lhs of bike

Photo of road where it all went down, roughly where car is in pic I went straight

H Brad good to see ur still around

Airbox mounts are all the same the only difference that I can spot is

No coil mounts where mine are located
Rear seat mounting plate and latch bracket are different and bracket for latch
Rectifier mounts do not line up
Rear brake resevoir mount not there either

All major bracing is there so that is good, was a little worried they changed because of motor size
