Alright, I have a 1999 SSie with the air box mod done to it when I bought it. I want to buy a new/used airbox lid or an entire airbox To cover the front of the air filter.

The add says it is a 1999, but my airbox is square with the metal bands and not rounded like this one. Also I have seen adds for pre 1999 airboxes or parts and they look like mine (square).

Did the previous owner of my bike swap out airboxes with the previous generation bike? Is that even possible? Can someone shed some light on this for me?
