Greetings...Hope this isn't a dumb question, but I don't want to get myself into a pickle. I'm having the frame fasteners re-zinc chromated, and would also like to do the fasteners in the brake calipers. Can I remove them without the calipers splitting? Anything I should be wary of? I just don't want to disrupt a seal or o-ring, so should I tape them together?

Thanks!

get 8 replacement screws and them them plated, or use them to hold the calipers together while you get the original replated. i only pull them one at a time.

Just rebuild them. It's overdue anyway and not that difficult. And its just zinc plating, not zinc chromate (which is toxic and you're probably recalling it from it's use on magnesium wheels in the 1990s).
