After some help please got a pair of Dyna 5 ohm coils angle tower type

I can't seem to work out the fitment with these instructions

here are some images that may help

1/ there are 2 orange wires off the back of the old standard coil pack
where do they fit in the new coil are they the positive + conections ?

2/ then there are 2 other wires 1 black 1 is orange and black where do they go on the new coil pack

3/ do i need those resistors with the new coils?

4/ how the hell does this bracket fit in the old mounting point

stupid me thought it would be a breeze to fit

thanks shane

1. i don't have a 1982 ducati SS, nor have i ever been close to one.

2. forget the old coils, take a look at the new ones, since they are
isolated in rubber, they need two cables each, one positive and one
negative, which should be ground on your bike i think. Positive ter-
minal is marked with a "+" on the coil, it can be seen on the pic.

3. you should have three or four cables out of your loom for the coils,
three in case that both coils share the negative ground cable, you need
two positve ignition cables, one for each coil, and you can detect them
by cranking the engine while slighty touching the case with each cable,
positive igniton cables will spark quite nicely, negative ones won't.

4. you don't need the resistors unless you have a radio installed on your bike. ;)

5. make a own bracket then, it can't be that difficult.

:)

i had dyna coils before, they are great, just make sure you get the
correct primary and secondary ohm resistance values.

:)

last thing that comes to my mind, make sure the cables to the plugs
are in top condition, and don't mount the coil outputs too close to
the frame, as the spark is likely to short bridge to it otherwise.

thanks but there are 4 wires coming off the coils

2 that went to the resistors then 2 more that go back into the loom

i'm asuming that the 2 orange wires that went to the resistors are the pos + and the black wires are the earth ?

may anybody chime in, who runs this particular modell and has any
experience with this ?

the pics are so small, i can't see a thing, those "resistors" can be
condensators, can't they ?

what kind of igniton do you run, circuit breaker point style or electronic ?

with the first kind, you need condensators hooked to the positive wire
at some point, to have the bike running properly, they will be inside the
ignition with most stock applications.

again, don't look at your old coils, the cables don't come from them,
take a look at the wiring loom, to detect the four needed cables.

positive ones will spark at the engine cases while the engine is cranked
with ignition on, negative ones won't.
