Hey all,

I'm putting together an ebay special 2014-2015 Monster 1200S engine and have gotten to the flywheel nut. Since this is a one time use nut I purchased Duc P/N 75010121D nut and 85212691A washer which the spare parts catalog said were the correct parts for my engine (checked for both 2014 and 15).

Unfortunately for me, these parts don't fit my monster engine. The 75010121D nut has a 24x1.0mm thread (the bag with the part number also says 24x1.0mm on it, and just so happens to fit my broken 2013 multistrada crank just fine), the 85212691A washer is a ~24mm ID washer, and the bag also says 24mm on it.

The Monster crank has 28x1.5mm threads as measured by me.

I see the Monster isn't listed as compatible with most of the aftermarket double nut set ups leading me to believe that someone somewhere knows that Duc upped the size of the threads.

Any idea what part number nut i need to fit the 28x1.5mm threads? I see later monsters have a 75011971A Nut (that started 12/16/2013 but isn't on multis and diavels till 2015 and monsters in 2017) and a 85213641A Washer (same start date). Maybe these are the right ones?

I don't see how my ebay engine is not a 14-15 monster 1200 engine. Has the burnt gold side cases, definitely 106x67.9mm bore x stroke, compression calculated off measured volumes of ~12.5:1, has the bosses on the heads for stressed member mounting arrangement...

Alternatively, I've seen people red loctite a used nut and never have issues, is this a viable solution?

Thanks very much.

Purchased and verified that the correct part number for the 28x1.5 nut is 75011971A and the corresponding ~28mm ID washer is 85213641A.
