For those thinking of getting a M1200R this year : personally, i'd wait for the next EICMA in November (2018) since there's got to be a new R announced - most thought that it was going to be shown at the previous one but...
Think of it this way : The 1200 and 1200S got a new model/restyle and so did the 821, the R is most definitely next since, well, it's the only liquid-cooled monster that hasn't received the restyle/improvements yet.
Expect a couple more ponies, cornering ABS, new headlight + tank and (maybe) a shorter wheelbase (like the latest 1200 + 821).
