Hey everyone,

I just picked up this 07' Hypermotard 1100. I have noticed a slight whirring/groaning noise once the bike gets hot. I think it might be coming from the belts, but I really wouldnt know. I am not sure what is causing this and am after some help. Thanks!

I watched twice and didnt hear anything. If you’re not sure when belts were done, do them and check the tensioners.

I could not here anything as well over the clutch noise but the only time
I have had the issue you describe is when the vertical belt was set to
tight. The vertical cylinder expands more that the front when the bike
gets hot. Take off the belt covers run it until you hear the noise then
feel the belts it will be obvious if that's the issue.

If you take the covers off and the belts feel tight when cold they’re going to be much tighter when hot. I’d loosen the tensioners and check them as long as you’re in there, then retension the belts. The tensioners should turn smoothly but not spin easily ( that would show wear or lack of grease) There should be no sign of grease coming out of the bearing, or discoloration ( getting too hot) Any doubt, replace them. You can buy them cheaply any place that sells bearings. I bought mine on eBay for about $6 each. Buy name brand only.
