I just bought yesterday (I havent picked it up or seen it yet) a new untitled `08 s for 15.9
dont know about any differences. I was undecided between a 1198 or the `08 1098s for the same money and I went for the 1098s.

Main bearings

is there any difference between an 07 and 08 s model

Yes - the MY07 have "weak" main bearings, where the MY08 uses the good ones again.

For normal street use - no worry - trackday junkie - you better replace the mains bearings on the MY07
