quick fitment question. Will 848/1098 ohlins forks fit on xx9 bikes with the xx9 lower and upper clamps?
I know they are both 43mm and certain xx9 had the 100mm radial brake mounts.

So that being said...If I have a 749 with Showa and bought Ohlins off a 1098series bike i would only need to get the Ohlines upper and lowers for the xx9 chassis?

You would just need the lowers, the uppers should be the same IIRC. But you're going to need radial calipers, new lines (they are different, have different fitments for the different way the calipers fit on the forks) and maybe spacers because I think the rotors are slightly different too, I think there's a 10mm difference? I would double check on that, but it can be done, I've seen it before. The XX9 series bikes with Showa suspension do not have radial calipers.

Thanks. This is preliminary research right now becasue Ohlins will be next project after I finish my termi project. I saw on EBay a few months back someone was selling the entire fork/brake/rotor shabang from a wrecked 1098s pretty cheaply.

Thanks for the feedback guys!
