I just bought a 07 1098s with the midnight black paint, the upper fairing has some rash on the edge and Im trying to decide on what to do.
I am a custom painter so I can touch it up and re clear coat it, but it looks tough to match and color rite is not clear on the perl.
I looked at carbon fearings wich I might go with the lovers to match the front fender but not shure if I like it that high.
How hard would it be to find a replacement in the correct color so I can bolt it on and go?

Don't count on finding a used clean one. It's usually the first thing that breaks/is damaged.

I bought a new non-OEM one from China off ebay, and the color is suprisingly close (my bike is red though). Not perfect, but close enough that I don't think I would do any better.
I haven't mounted it yet, so can't comment on fit just yet.

Tried that route with a ZX-10. (China skins) Tried fitting once, stored them, and eventually binned them. LMK how they fit.
