Hoping the experts here can clarify this for me - just got my '05 749S back from its 12k service, and the parts guy as well as the tech told me that my bike has Ti valves...which I found surprising, and which I also haven't been able to confirm anywhere else.

Is the '05 749S engine the same as the '04 749R engine? They're both spec'd at 116 crank HP, but the valve p/n's are different...

Thanks!

Unless the motor has been changed up they are not Ti. I believe the valve size was different as well on the R. Can't remember exactly. The S definitely did not come with Ti valves.

They do not have the same engine, 749R has different bore and stroke.
