I'm tearing down an 03 999 for paint. The vents on the front fairing are kind of melted on at the corners. Is there a way to take those off and put back on with screws or glue after paint?

What vents? There are about 3 locations fitting your description.
1. air runner intakes
2. the long "wings" on each side of the uppers
3. the chin fairing

Sorry I guess a better description would help. The grills that cover the air intake runners on the nose are what I'm trying to remove, also the air slits above them. These.............

If you have a Dremel tool or electric drill you can attach a sanding bit and just wear down the melted areas until the vents are released.
To replace them just use a little black silicone adhesive and let dry overnight. You're done!
