  1. Clutch pushrod won't come out...

    Supersport
The pressure plate bearing was seized up. It has been replaced.
  2. Clutch pushrod won't come out...

    Supersport
The oil seal and needle bearing were fine. Evoluzione sent me new piston seals, aluminum spacer and bearing for the clutch slave. The pushrod was fine and I installed new o-rings and new pressure plate bearing. When the piston spun in the bore on the clutch slave, there was some minor damage to...
  3. Clutch pushrod won't come out...

    Supersport
Thanks. I'll definitely check it out. I don't anticipate that being a problem. I pushed the rod out towards the slave cylinder.
  4. Clutch pushrod won't come out...

    Supersport
I'm not sure what seal you are talking about. Are you referring a seal where the two sides of the motor would meet? Sorry, I haven't completely pulled out all the clutch plates, so maybe there is an oil seal back there?
  5. Clutch pushrod won't come out...

    Supersport
Two o-rings came out on the slave end of the pushrod. Are there any others? Pushrod was a little "gummed" but no other signs of fluids. How could I check the oil seal? I can slide a smaller rod in and out without getting caught on anything.

91' Ducati 900ss Long story short...I was having a clutch slave leak and it turns out the pushrod was spinning and in turn was spinning the slave piston. The pushrod bearing is definitely seized so I figured to check the pushrod also. The pushrod spins freely and I can slide it either way...
  7. 998 Clutch Slave Recommendations Please

    Superbikes
Definitely check out your clutch pressure plate bearing. From reading a few threads and speaking to Ken @ Evoluzione, they should be replaced about every 10k miles.
  8. 998 Clutch Slave Recommendations Please

    Superbikes
I believe you are right about the pressure plate bearing. I posted about a week ago with the same problem (Evo slave was only 2 weeks old). Inside of the slave piston there were some grooves worn into it. The bearing had colapsed and the center of it was spinning w/the clutch pushrod. That in...
  9. 998 Clutch Slave Recommendations Please

    Superbikes
Not sure why, but my 3 week old Evo slave leaked today. I can't offer any ideas but wanted to let you know you are not the only person with this issue. For a while I could hear my clutch bearing squeaking. Is it possible that the clutch rod is hard to push for some reason, causing to much...
  10. Need to flush out Dot 5 from clutch lines

    Supersport
It is for a clutch slave. At this point I'm going to rebuild/replace and use 5.1. The reason I was wondering when 5.1 came out was that someone posted that even though the master cover says Dot 3-5, the 5 in Europe is actually 5.1 in the U.S.. While this thread is informative...The Dot 5 may...
  11. Need to flush out Dot 5 from clutch lines

    Supersport
That's my concern. I was told that Dot 3 was only used, so when I got the bike I promptly bled new Dot 3 into the bike as part of an initial service. At this point I have no way of knowing what was there before. I have no reason to not believe the previous owner. I just wanted to make sure at...
  12. Need to flush out Dot 5 from clutch lines

    Supersport
I don't know how long 5 silicone has been around, but has 5.1 been around since 1991 when the bike was built?
  13. Need to flush out Dot 5 from clutch lines

    Supersport
The clutch master says Dot 3-5 on the cover. Does this mean that it is compatible with Dot 5 silicone? I assume that ALL Dot 5 is silicone. If the Evo slave is compatible with Dot 5 it may be best to just change the slave and see if any other leaks show up. Looking into this issue concerns me a...
  14. Need to flush out Dot 5 from clutch lines

    Supersport
Long story short. I developed a leak in clutch slave cylinder on my 91 ss. I ordered an Evoluzione slave cylinder to replace the old one. The previous owner used Dot 5 fluid and that may be part of the reason the leak started. Anyway, I plan to switch to Dot 5.1 when I install the new slave...
  15. Front brake leak

    Superbikes
Have you fixed the problem yet? I have a similar problem on my 900ss except there is a little grime (dirt and fluid) at one of my banjos on the front. I am going to replace the crush washers when I get the chance and was wondering if that solved the problem for you.

  17. anyone fit a 180 rear tire on 900ss (pre-99)?

    Supersport
I put a 180 Pilot Power on my 5.5" rim just fine. The problem I have is that the inside of the chain makes some contact with the edge of the tire and is wearing the tire down. I made sure the wheel was on staight, and checked the chain "slack" and they are okay. Also, I think the tire looks a...

  20. Jeez, this makes me nervous

    Ducati Motorcycle Chat
I would love to see the tires that it takes to move a 3150 lb car 0-60 in 1.97 sec.!!! Also, I believe the Veyron is 1001 hp and in the 4000 lb range, so the Corvette is more powerful and lighter.
