  1. Fuel Light

    Supersport
I will get some grease and try it. I did reconnect the plug a few times. Thanks
  2. Fuel Light

    Supersport
I might pull out the pump and see if I can figure anything out.
  3. Fuel Light

    Supersport
The change in weight, the stock cans were not light, it was easily a 30 lb difference. I never had an issue with my RC51. But that is another story, just trying to fix the fuel light right now.

Alright, I know before anyone jumps on me....search the threads. I did and found some information but I wanted some advice before I proceed going back and forth troubleshooting. Last week I had to jump my 800ss, in doing so I lifted the tank a bit more than I should have as I was getting...
  5. Finally, 2006 800SS (needs love) Dial-up Beware

    Supersport
I need to go over the bike to see if anything else fell off. Missing a bolt now. So I have to figure out the size to order the new one. First, going to make sure I am not missing anything else. I already have to order new mirrors and grips again. The crap grips I ordered before were a temp...
  6. Finally, 2006 800SS (needs love) Dial-up Beware

    Supersport
Bringing up this old thread only to update. I was going to sell the bike (it was in the for sale section for awhile) and I decided to keep it for now. I have new grips on order. I am in Germany now so looking for cheaper insurance. I went from 90 bucks a year to 1200. Very significant jump...

I miss my RC51 big time. Have to agree, if you sell it your going to miss it. Wish I never sold mine. Good luck with the sale though.
  8. Repairing a rusty or leaking SS tank

    Supersport
That is correct. I saw someone used a balloon to fill the void if you wanted to go that route.
  9. Decals? Stickers?

    Supersport
You know, I have not been seeing too much for 800's. I want to repaint my bike this winter. Maybe I will have to paint mine on by hand as far as the number 800.
  10. Repairing a rusty or leaking SS tank

    Supersport
Because that is not the only place it can leak. The seams can leak as well. By sealing the tank it fills in the seams preventing it from rusting or leaking.

    Supersport
So upgrades are K&N filter, LV pipes, tinted windscreen (was red), PC III and soon to be on is a new red chain. All in all about 1K in parts. I still need to find a good PC place to do the dyno and tune. If a tune is going to cost me my left one then I will deal with what I have. I do have a...

I will let you know how it goes. 1st ride with the new set up should be on Monday but there is a chance of rain so we will see.
  13. Finally, 2006 800SS (needs love) Dial-up Beware

Very cool sounding pipes!! I only started it up for about 10 mins then checked for leaks like the instructions said. But, I love the sound and they were really easy to install. I want to rivet the logos on instead of the stickers but I really dont know about drilling into the brand new pipes...
  14. Finally, 2006 800SS (needs love) Dial-up Beware

    Supersport
Just paid for a set of Leo Vance carbon pipes for 620 shipped. I wish I could have done it the way I wanted and saved 600 bones. Oh well. Guess it was meant to be.
  15. Finally, 2006 800SS (needs love) Dial-up Beware

    Supersport
So the exhaust cans were a bust. Damn things would not come out of the sleeve. The caps were easy then I banged the living crap out of them on a wood block for about a hour (on just one) and not a inch. Yes I removed the bolts and brackets. So I am going to order a CHEAP aftermarket. I dont...

Ok, now that I am about to do a Power Commander I am looking for a 800SS (2006) with K&N, open air box and after market pipes. I am going to open the pipes myself from the factory pipes but it should have the same effect as the aftermarket. Thanks!

Sounds like something I would like to do. Just got to find a shop good enough to do it.
  20. Finally, 2006 800SS (needs love) Dial-up Beware

Finally got some great seat time in. A 120 mile ride the other day. I do have to say that seat is very nice and easy on the rear. It would seem that I got alot better mileage on this trip as I am at about 140 miles on the tank and the gas light has not come on yet! I am going to fill it up...
