  1. Oil Leak after oil change

    Multistrada
Buy a roll of gasket material and make a gasket. It takes about two minutes if you just trace the outline of the plate. I gave up on sealers years ago and just make a new gasket once per season when I check the screen filter.
  2. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
I have done it twice with my bike while waiting for a new fuel level sensor to be installed. Just stuck the 22K ohm resistor in the connector and carefully taped it up. No issues whatsoever.
  3. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
Twenty cent resistor plugged into the connector under the seat does the same thing.
  4. Replacing fuel level sensor

    Multistrada
FWIW, the fuel level sensor on my KTM 1090R quit working at about 1K miles. I removed it and disassembled it (a ten minute job on the KTM) and found the float stuck at the top of the tube. It swells and jams at the top of the tube if you fill the tank all the way full. I sanded a small taper on...
  5. 1098/1198 cams

    Multistrada
Try a search. There was someone on the forum here who did the 41 degree conversion a few years ago.
  6. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
Do an interweb search on KTM Adventure fuel level sensors. The sensor on my 1090R quit working in under 1K miles. The difference is you can remove and replace (or disassemble and fix) the KTM sensor in about 15 minutes. That said, it is a curious failure. Everyone blames the ethanol in our fuel...
  7. 2012 seat to 2014

    Multistrada
The 2012 has two rear locator pins whereas the 2104 has one. Hence, a 2012 seat will fit a 2104 but a 2014 seat will not fit a 2012. I hope I got that right! I owned a 2011 and then a 2014. I know that the comfort seat from my 2011 fit on my 2014.
  8. LeoVince slip-on?

    Multistrada
If you are dead set on a slip-on, as soon as you get your bike pull the stock exhaust tip off the cat and start the bike. Make a mental note regarding the change in sound and then go buy the best looking slip-on you can afford. I had a Remus slip-on on my 2011 for a while, I picked it up cheap...
  9. 2014 Pikes Peak

    Multistrada
Same for me......my 2014 PP is my second Multi. I too always wanted the PP version. I don't know how I will ever be able to let this one go.
  10. Which Multi?

    Multistrada
Local dealer has a new 2014 Pikes Peak sitting on the floor marked at $15,999.00. https://www.foxpowersports.com/default.asp?page=xNewInventoryDetail&id=1646059&p=4&make=ducati&s=Year&d=D&limitSearch=stockno%2Cmanuf%2Cmodel%2Cbike_year&fr=xNewInventory
  11. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
22K ohm gives my bike half-a-tank. I used a 1/4 watt, 10%. I figured there was no need to spend big bucks for the gold band when you are measuring imaginary gasoline. :grin2:
  12. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
I bought a new 2017 KTM Adventure this summer. The fuel level sensor failed at 3000 miles. This debacle is not specific to Ducati. I would love to blame the ethanol in our fuel but every car I have ever owned has had a flawlessly functioning fuel gauge........
  13. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
My Multi now has the Rev E sensor (fourth failure). If this one fails, I am done. I will just stick a resistor in the connector and use the trip ODO to keep from running out of gas. Funny thing, I acquired a new KTM 1090 Adventure R earlier this summer. The fuel level sensor quit working at...
  14. lower leg heat

    Multistrada
Yes, a Multistrada is like air conditioning compared to an Adventure R in 80 degree city traffic.
  15. New C version fuel sensor having issues after 4 months

    Multistrada
Same here, same exact symptoms except my Rev D sensor lasted only a year. This is the third failed sensor for me. I have high hopes for the Rev E sensor. I owned a 2011 prior to my 2014. A friend now owns the 2011 and that bike has never had a sensor failure. Strange.......
  16. About to pick up a '13 Pikes Peak

    Multistrada
Yep, learn how to bleed the rear brake and the clutch and then have fun riding the wheels off it.
  17. Important question

    HyperMotard
    It's "A Hypermotard, eh"
  18. Belt Tension

    Multistrada
The Gates belt tensioning app for iPhone is free and works great.
  19. You would be quackers not to buy a Multistrada

    Multistrada
    Aren't those geese......:wink2:
  20. Would you buy this MTS1200s

    Multistrada
Below is one of the best deals I have seen.......for comparison purposes. $6500.00 seems a little high for a bike with that many miles. There's a ton of them out there right now. 2011 Ducati Multistrada 1200
