    Supersport
    It's a hoot.
  2. Racing the Ducati Super Sport?

    Supersport
Yes that was me running the ARC system on my 800ss. I won a championship in 07 on my bike and came 3rd in 08 despite missing the last 4 rounds due to injury. Had 09 off...might make a comeback in 2011.
  3. New Supersport not going to happen?

    Supersport
TBH, there's little that will stay with my roadgoing 800ss on the right road. Its combination of lightweight, excellent handling and punchy torquey motor allows it to stay and pull away from most stuff. Granted, being a racer helps, but the fact that you can lay down power when others can't for...
  4. Tyre pressure?

    Supersport
On my road 800 I run 30f/32r (cold) On my race 800 I run 34/34 (hot at 80 degrees C). The road pressures seem to work well in terms of grip in the dry, they are a bit too low on bumpy roads and I am thinking more like 34/34.
  5. A bit of onboard from my 800ss

When in Scotland...it would be rude not to... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD7e9UZ5nrk

Brad, Please can you pm me?
  8. New Supersport not going to happen?

    Supersport
There is no other bike available out there that can replace it imo. I have a Triumph Sprint RS which, is another good bike with a blend of power/weight/handling/comfort. Alas it is made no more because no-one bought it...and it's still no Ducati anyway.
  9. New Supersport not going to happen?

    Supersport
It is sad that they've gone. My 80bhp 800ss is more than ample for me and doesn't get left behind ever. There's something pure and uncomplicated about an air-cooled Ducati...proper old school. A simple performance bike at its best imo. I'm gradually developing mine into something very light...
  10. Doug and ARC Fabrication

    Supersport
I'm glad to hear he's still alive....shame about the hard times, the business and the deal others got as a result. I hope it gets sorted eventually.
  11. New Supersport not going to happen?

    Supersport
Alas people are fixated on horsepower they have neither the talent or the balls to use so, a sub-120bhp Supersport is unlikely to happen on the account that it won't sell. :( Shame really, cos I love these bikes and much prefer them over a 4-vlv motor.
  12. What year is this bike?

    Supersport
Yes that is my bike. I still have it. I am taking this year off from racing my 800ss due to racing injuries. The alloy arm is std 03 800ss equipment for the UK. See the wiki article for more. More info about my bike can be found here: www.twpdracing.com I would like to know who is using...
  13. 800ss up at Hartside - UK

    Supersport
I had a fabulous day out on Sunday. Darlington-Hartside-Brampton-Hadrian's Wall via the Military Road-Chollerford-Wark-Bellingham-Kielder-Carter Bar and beyond. Credit card, onboard video and some sticky tyres to wreck. Bliss. Here's my 800ss on Hartside moor:
  14. Whoops! Onboard from my 800ss race bike

    Supersport
That is a fair summary of what happened. He simply didn't expect me to come steaming in at that rate of knots...and he just took my front end out. I was on it that weekend...perfect weather, perfect setup and the bike was flying. I broke my shoulder in that crash on the Thursday, but got back...
  15. Whoops! Onboard from my 800ss race bike

    Supersport
It was a trackday that I was using for practice - a bit naughty I know, but I had little choice as there was no proper practice day on the Friday right before the meeting. I was cutting through because I am a racer - it's what we do. Ride to the limit.
  16. Doug and ARC Fabrication

    Supersport
Doug built me an exhaust system for my 800ss racer in 07. Getting it was a bit touch & go and, at one stage he refunded me my money saying he was unable to deliver in time. I persisted and got my exhaust system. Setting it up was a PITA, but with help from Doug over the phone (I am in the UK) I...
  17. Anyone ever heard of Renegade exhaust?

    Supersport
Renegade are made in the UK. I have used them in the past and have nothing but praise for them. Georg (sp?) used to support race teams and came to my rescue at a meeting in 2005 when I crashed out. He supplied me with a new exhaust system for the weekend at no cost in order to keep me on the...
  18. Ducati Kaemna SSie passenger seat cover

    Supersport
Nice seat cover, but personally I prefer the Kaemna solo seat on my 800ss racer:
  19. Something is Slipping

    Supersport
The 800ss clutch is prone to slip in the middle of the rev range. It's a bit feeble. This was particularly noticeable on my 800ss racer. The only cure I found (after trying all sorts of oil etc) was to use Barnett clutch plates. That made a huge difference.
  20. Whoops! Onboard from my 800ss race bike

    Supersport
It was going quite well..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TougeP-TpCA
