  1. Airbox interchangeability

    Superbikes
Correct! Stuff that differs 996R and 998S comes down to minor head differences on the outside, inside the combustion is exactly the same indeed. Base 998 will differ a lot from 996R, its a completely different engine. Although their differences they all share the same airbox because throttle...
  2. 996R (998?) Died on me

    Superbikes
So you think I did a bad job eh? Then contact IBC as that is the source that perfomed the job for you. Not going to help you from this point on Bye
  3. 996R (998?) Died on me

    Superbikes
Try and find a fellow rider that has a 998 or a 996r and ask if hes willing to let you try it? If it turns out the ecu is f:ed, you should be able to find a used unit in the range of €100-150. As long its a 59M you can then clone the new one with your current ecu content, so doesnt have to be...
  4. 996R (998?) Died on me

    Superbikes
Swapping the ecu would be nice. Weve had a couple go bad on 999's.

  6. 1998 916 biposto misfire from idle when warm only

    Superbikes
Sorry, I have no idea :/ Never heard of a p-regulator out of order on a duc. Has anything been done to the bike lately? The trimpot mentioned has a huge effect at low revs, if you just breathe on it itll turn one percent in co, could be it if the bike was tuned for the non oem eprom and had the...
  7. Hypersport with Evo engine (748/916/996/998 with 1098(R) 1198 engine)

    Superbikes
My little pompom is just ticking on now that everythings been ironed out, love the bike!
  8. Hypersport with Evo engine (748/916/996/998 with 1098(R) 1198 engine)

    Superbikes
I think weve seen all sorts of combos over the years, but I think all were based on 916.
  9. Hypersport with Evo engine (748/916/996/998 with 1098(R) 1198 engine)

    Superbikes
Should go to the return pipe to the cooler. I used the 1098 parts with the thermostat and all and molded it to fit the 996 water cooler, have a look at the 1098 parts manual and see. Guessing the reason its there is because it would be nearly impossible to get the air out else.
  10. Ducati 848, What is this part?

    Superbikes
OEM ecu will render error code with the wires disconnected or connector disconnected, but Full Termi system ecu program will not as that system wont have that valve, however its just a simple 1/0 switch in the ecu-program. Likely any of the flash dragons can sort that, I could but Im not active...
  11. High compression 916/996 SPS on the dyno

    Superbikes
As I was about to post Im not the guy to post to, then you do this? Gaah :D Looks spot on, number is just a number. NOW Im out :)
  12. 996 low level fuel sensor

    Superbikes
Bike will start with no level of fuel concerning the gauge :) ecu is utterly stupid here in that sense. i.e it has no idea of the actual fuel level.
  13. 748R cams in 996 head

    Superbikes
There are variables enough to this subject everyone is correct at some point. that is the only thing Im willing to say is certain. The more you understand the more you understand how broad the 'problem' is Is it just flow in a bench that matters? Nope Is longer blow down better for top end ...
  14. UM141 chip ducats 748sps

    Superbikes
They dont have the same adress for the data table, simple as that. For every ecu file you need to look the address up for the xdf to make sense. Sorry nothing in store for 748sps.
  15. 748R cams in 996 head

    Superbikes
Ive tried it. There is no upside in power Im afraid, the head is the culprit. Absolutely no wear issues with the different valve spacing though. No need for excessive piston pockets, you are mistaking for G-cams or such that are 300 degree duration. Squish isnt affected by any of that ;)
  16. 1098 issue

    Superbikes
Ive tried it several times on the same bike so Im not worried about how it is. The best performing oem 1098 I did is with oem system and slipon. (Cam dialing and individual cylinder tuning) Major point is I dont 'feel' or 'beleive', I try in the dyno, which in itself is ruthless if you will :)
  17. 998S Wont Start - Poor injector spray when cranking.

    Superbikes
Are you testing my joke level? IF so you got me bad, Bastards! Ill find you :D
  18. 998S Wont Start - Poor injector spray when cranking.

    Superbikes
Wont run, It will prime happily still for the amount o time dictated by ecu, nothing else. Turn ignition off and on, it will do the said amount of ms. Would you agree?
  19. 998S Wont Start - Poor injector spray when cranking.

    Superbikes
Sorry, its just a timer in the ecu that dictates the prime. Im not sure why you give advice when you have no clue? The above is completely made up and NOT correct! Stop posting unless you are dead certain!
  20. 1198 engine removal question

    Superbikes
Those are big end rod bearings (shells), the main bearings are normal ball bearings. Id say the useful streetbike ended with it, at least it was the last in a row of raw feeling bikes, with no 'call mom' button on them. Ive raced mine a lot, but you have to attend to it accordingly, then its...
