  1. Can't find thread for Givi rack on top of topbox lid.

    Multistrada
I can't help you with your questions but I thought I might suggest that maybe you don't need the rack. I strap down a 20 litre dry bag on top of the case. The front anchor points are the passenger grab rails and the rear points are under the case, on the round bar that supports the case mount...
  2. Servo motor removal

    Multistrada
On my 2015, the valve only closes between 4500-6000 rpm (approximately) and only in neutral. From what I've read, this valve is only used so the bike passes the sound tests and has no impact whatsoever on the ride-ability of the bike, except when the valve in the exhaust eventually seizes and...
  3. 2016 DVT 1200S suspension woes

    Multistrada
The right leg is the one that loves to blow seals. Have you noticed any oil leaks from that leg?
  4. DVT Throttle spacer kit

    Multistrada
I prefer the clutch method when I'm riding with a passenger. I find the sudden cancellation of the throttle to be too jarring, unless I warn them first. The clutch method is just much smoother.
  5. DVT windscreen sliding take off?

    Multistrada
You can see some of this information in the service manual, although this section isn't incredibly detailed. You can grab the service manual from here. Got that link from this thread. The diagrams are around pages 143-152.
  6. Reaching front blinkers connectors on DVT - easy?

    Multistrada
Search your manual for "indicator cable". You'll find it shown in Table 2A under Branch 2 in the cable layout section. In my manual, this is page 280. Shows the indicator cable going to the cluster of connectors on the side of the frame. Same area as the heated handgrips if you've gone looking...
  7. Engine Stumbles

    Multistrada
Sounds similar to what happens if the exhaust valve is sticking closed. If you pull off the silencer and have a look inside the exhaust pipe, you can see if the valve is open or stuck closed.
  8. Breaks not disengaging electronically

    Multistrada
One of the first failures I had on my 2015 was the rear brake switch. The symptoms were the generic warning icon on the dash and the inability to use cruise control. I don't think I had problems with the ride mode selection though.
  9. Subtleties of Wheelie Control - observations...

    Multistrada
I haven't seen anywhere in the wiring diagrams that there is an actual positional sensor on the front forks. I've had the opposite instance happen to what DaveK described. I was heading up a road that had a very sharp hairpin in it. As I tipped the bike in and started to apply throttle to get...
  10. 2015 DVT clutch question

    Multistrada
I had the same issue on mine but flushing the fluid fixed the issue without any other adjustments required. Where is your friction zone? Is it right near the grip?
  11. Rear Tank Protector?

    Multistrada
Maybe a paint protection film would work in that spot. Something like 3M's Scotchgard film. That is a sharp contour though. You'd either have to get a film that can be stretched to prevent creases or that can be shrunk with a hair dryer. Vinyl wraps are heat shrunk, I believe, so maybe you could...
  12. Side stand lean angle, what do you think.

    Multistrada
My Link app told me today that my 2015 is at a 16 degree lean-angle when on the side stand. I need to be more cognizant of where I park this bike because it doesn't take much of a slope to make the bike look like it's going to fall over.
  13. Ducati branded givi tank bag phone size

    Multistrada
I had my iPhone 6 in the clear pocket of my tank bag, playing music over Bluetooth with the screen off. It shut down repeatedly due to over-heating. I now use a Quadlock phone mount or just put the phone inside the tank bag.
  14. Sidestand foot?

    Multistrada
I have this one on my 2015: Touratech side stand base
  15. Multistrada unstable?

    Multistrada
I'm thinking it might come down to your tires. I found the OEM Scorpion Trail II tires to cause the handlebars to shake at high speeds or fast sweepers. When I switched to the Roadtec's that I'm using now, the bike became a lot more stable. In the short term, you could try playing with your...
  16. 1260 Owners - Center Stand Technique

    Multistrada
That's similar to the method I use to get it off as well. I'll tip the bike backward onto the rear wheel (front wheel in the air), then as I swing the front end back down, I push the bike forward so it pivots forward and off the stand. I do all of this while standing on the left side of the...
  17. HELP!!!! MTS in Cardiac Arrest!!!!

    Multistrada
Here's the service bulletin. Had to split it into two files so it would fit in the attachments.
  18. "Fused Solenoid" Question

    Multistrada
The wiring diagram for my 2015 is identical to yours and is definitely an exercise in frustration. I think it's impossible to figure out how this area of the bike is actually wired using the wiring diagram. There is no indication that there is a direct connection from the battery to the fused...
  19. Inspect your starter solenoid connector!

    Multistrada
Please inspect the 4-pin connector on top of your starter solenoid. See attached photos. Note: Disconnecting this connector will cut power from the bike, and you will have to reset your date/time. You may or may not get a CEL for power interruption. I have been participating in a couple of...
  20. bike is lifeless - almost

    Multistrada
I'm happy that your issue was only a loose connector/contact! If corrosion sets in (which is possible due to the high current on these contacts) then eventually arcing and overheating occurs. Ducati have an upgrade kit designed to bypass the two wires to correct or prevent this issue. It's not...
