  4. Front Brake Lever Question

    Superbikes
I installed shortie CRG levers over a year ago, worked great until recently. Now my right lever is not triggering the rear brake light. Not sure how the pin on the lever interacts under the rubber boot. Is this an electrical switch (vs. a mechanical interaction), I remember there being grease...

  7. 848 Front Turn Signal blinking erratically

    Superbikes
My left mirror/turn signal started blinking erratically recently. On further inspection, I found the rubber gasket between the fairing and stay installed upside down and therefore not offering a good seal there. I have ridden in the rain recently. Any ideas on how moisture may be causing this...

  9. tire wear?????

    Superbikes
+1 to Desmo's post. From experience (12 years commuting - rain/shine) I always get 2 rears to a 1 front. 3000-4500 per rear, depending on season and tire. Obviously my riding hasn't changed much over the years since this has been a constant for me, running either Pilot Roads a while back, and...

  11. Potential 848 Owner: Your opinions needed

    Superbikes
Hey dude, do it, you won't regret it. I'm 6', 180, no issues. My commute is 24 miles round trip (wouldn't mind if it was longer :D) and i get 100 miles to reserve light, do another 20-30 and fill up (usually about 3-3.2 gallons); I've never run out yet ;). So I fill up once a week if only...
  12. Passing the CA DMV Riding Test on a 1098

    Superbikes
BTW, some insurance companies will give you a 10% discount (or some other figure around there) if you've completed the MSF course, mine (Allstate) does. Win-win all around.
  13. Why no single-sided swingarm on the 999?

    Superbikes
The Honda Hawk GT were mass produced in the mid-eightee's with the ELF designed SSSA. If you look closely, they are actually badged with a little plaque that specifies something to the effect that ELF helped designed the SSSA.

    Superbikes
Silver HawkGT My twin bro has been commuting on some HawkGT or another for the past 14 years. Here are pix of a Hawk that he bought in SoCal, that I had painted for him by a buddy before having it trucked up to him in NorCal. And one of the Hawk and VFR side by side... Go Honda...

Hey, say hi to my Cameroonian friends across the border for me! I spent 2 years in Fundong, not far from the Nigerian border in the NW Province! Grats on the new bike, must be wild riding that thing in those parts... I seriously miss the awesome food there, namely the foufou and njamajama...
  19. The ultimate noob wondering about Ducatis

    Superbikes
+1 Get a monster; all around better to learn on. And as stated, you WILL drop it at some point, so no expensive plastic is better. While I've been commuting daily for 16+ years, I've never had an serious accident BUT: I've dropped my bike(s) more than once (forgot kick stand, parked wrong way...
  20. uh oh.... Wrench light came on on dash? i JUST had 6k service..

    Superbikes
Dealer should have told you that you hadn't reached the appropriate mileage for the wrench light to come and that you'd have to come back. The trigger is based on Km, so the actual mileage number is a little whacky: 600 mile service light comes on at about 621 (1000 Km) 6000 mile service light...
