Yeah I think Ducati's approach was to spec the suspension and wheels last, because it sure look sllike they built these to a budget? Look forward to hearing how the shocks work out for you - have heard sooooo much about Ohlins.
Yeah , i agree. It has been in "the plan" to look at the fork options after I get the wheels done. I guess I'll find out soon though. BTW the guy at Ducati Penrith is experimenting with inserting 996 internals into the stock SC forks - still work in progress but he is confident of a result. Fully adjustable forks are very tempting.
I'm in the process of swapping my SC1000 wheels with Alpinas and was planning to put the "old" wheels/tyres on the market. My local dealer is working with a guy who owns a GT so was thinking of offering my wheels. Anyway saw you had swapped out yours and wondered whether you sold your orignals and if so (hope you dont mind) how much did you get for them? Just looking for a reference point on price.
much appreciated. I May give you a call on the weekend if that's ok. I have asked Greg at WASP to put aside a PUK and steering damper for me when he gets them in.... then it will be on to suspension and rearsets.... can you recommend a good mechanic as my bike is about due for a service.
info about your mods and was interested to know who the distributor was that you purchased your rearsets off. I have an 08 SC1000 bip and and looking at rearset / exhaust / suspension options.
