Not sure moisture would be a problem but you can always add some rtv around the relay case and base to seal it and some dielectric grease to the terminals before plugging it in.

I modified my throttle tube by drilling a new cable anchor hole and carving out some material to reduce the cable pull from just off of idle and it worked fine for me.

Carved the cam with a razor knife

I carved my own milder cam profile in about 15 minutes. Worked great to slow the response just off idle. It is a little easier on the clutch too I presume.

overfill solution

If you overfill, just clamp a small length of fuel line to a turkey baster (not the one from the kitchen drawer). It will draw out as much as you need to.
