belter do you mean when you pull the clutch lever in, the sound doesn't change, or doesn't become the light rattle?

DS749R Worn basket. Look on the basket where the tangs should rattle between the basket tabs and see if the plates have worn grooves in it. That is what gives you the diesel sound.

Dry clutch clonk

One of the reasons I own a decrepit Ducati is the clutch noise, however mine seems to sound like a diesel pump and less like the ringing chatter that I like.
Any reason why the klonk and not the rattle?
