i agree the monster and Triumph Thruxton R are nice bikes.
But i am looking for a bike to use for work (being a GP, will need this to do my daily rounds) full year round, 365 days a year. So i am not looking for something naked, nor exteremely powerfull, but would like t upgrade from my ST, although not really a neccesity. Also i will keep my ST, as bike to work on, the new one will be fully maintained by dealer as i will not have the time to work on it when necessairy and cost will be deductable.

I would look for something 2 valve and air cooled, maybe a scrambler 1100 if it can be found. I do not like working on the new Ducati's so if you work on stuff yourself talk to the dealer/research something as simple as shutting off oil light or service messages. under all the stuff they are still good sound bikes it is just getting more trouble than benefit for me. If you did good in school and have a good paying job lined up buy any you fancy and pay the dealer for service costs, just the cost of ownership. The new bikes are nice to ride and have more power than most owners will ever use for more than a few moments a ride, that does not mean you should not have one
I would consider a panigale because if it sits and you do not use it you have no belts to change from lack of use.

That's what I have and love, and it works for my short inseam.
The 1200 has no shortage of power.

I’d go 1260 Multistrada, no question. IMO it’s the best combination of power, handling, comfort and carrying capability. I think the SS is a nice idea but not an ST replacement and while the power is good, it isn’t a 1260 Multistrada.
Now, you didn’t specify if the 950 Multi is an option or not but depending on budget you may want to consider it.
Did I mention power? You see where I’m going. Not that the Multi has Panigale power but it’s got enough.

Such a personal question that seeking opinions is almost meaningless.
I'm lucky enough to have 7 Ducati options to choose from, but for a single bike, nothing beats a Multistrada for sheer versatility

buying a new Duc
As there is a chance i might actually graduate this year (not expecting anything,, but i am getting there)
in which case i would kinda need to buy a new motorbike. something new, garanteed and service and all that stuff as it would be necessary for year round work needs. so now i am looking around a bit..
as i only have experience with the older ST's and a few short rides on some monsters when the ST was in for service. But no experience with the newer Duc's.
so i started to wonder what you guys would choose if you could and needed to buy a brand new duc this year, what would you go for.
multistrada, supersport (which i kinda see as an sort of ST), an non V4 panigale, or something else?
and most off all why..
