IMHO yes, very smooth. Frankly I was surprised how smooth. Felt much better than my Pani. Not as good as a carbureted DRZ400SM
That’s because the DRZ is balls slow so you ANY acceleration is smooth! I’m jk, I actually love my DRZ having done all the typically mods and proper jetting it’s a blast to ride. I’m curious how you compare the two bikes in general however

TexasJeff I got sidetracked on a massive home improvement project (landscaping the whole property). That and the fact that it has rained every 3 days and wreaked havoc with construction schedules all over Texas have kept me from riding for a couple weeks.

This bike has made me ride more aggressively. I saw your thread on the Dunlop Q3. I'm kinkd of torn on weather I will go with a different tire when my P Corsas wear out. I'm at only 890 miles and they still look good and these things stick like nothing I have ever ridden on the street before.

I'm starting to think I don't need better mirrrors. Lately, I've been passing every one.

Does anyone know if there are some larger, mirrors that install easily and "stick out further" on each side? I'm using this bike to deal with Austin traffic and I'm physically too large for the provided mirrors to see around me. I'm not worried if they are dorky looking. My concern is that when I have to make a quick stop I check my mirrors to see who is right behind me so I don't get hit.

Did you find mirrors you are happy with?

I am not using my FAR viper mirrors. Would you like to try them out and if you like them I am sure we can work out a price that you are happy with. I can mail them out to you if you want. Shoot me a PM.

I prefer the setup pictured using CRG style mirrors on the hand guards over the vipers.

gus duc Those sound and look great and no popping on decel with the stock map is impressive. One note to those that do install...always wear gloves & when you are done wipe down all the metal pipes with isopropyl alcohol before you start the bike and heat them up as any residue or finger prints will be burned into your new pipes.

Yup I saw that video last night sounds great in the video and even better in person! I ended up removing the db killers an hour or so ago, it's definitely louder, a little bit more raw and throaty. It sounded amazing with them still in and now it's turned up a notch.

It's somewhat of a pain to remove but not too bad if you know what you're doing. There is a small weld you have to grind off. The left side came out a little easier but the right side was a pain in my butt! That thing was in there. To make things worse I dropped a tool down my exhaust while getting creative trying to remove it so ended up taking the lower exhaust apart which really sucked.

Upon reinstall I left the exhaust servo cable disconnected for that butterfly valve. Bike ran great without it. I eventually got the right side db killer out (not gonna lie, I had to get pretty creative but it worked after a couple hours of trying different ideas).

Only the grips. I only had to slide the grips over maybe an 1/8”-1/4” since there was already a little gap, didn’t have to move the levers at all.

All I did was use 3 pieces of safety wire and attached the upper holes of the plate to the exhaust springs and one lower hole to a bracket on the mid pipe. Simple yet effective and still looks way better than stock. Obviously I'll lose rear signals but I'm ok with that for a short while. I have my eye on the new tail tidy from Evotech Performance they just released a few days ago.

Anyways, gonna go for a quick ride and see how she sounds.
p.s. you can't "easily" remove the db killer, there is a small weld securing it however I think a quick grind will remove it. I'm going to take a look at it closer later. But for now, super stoked! Now they just need to release a full system!

bheremans I removed the signals from the ital-shop tail tidy and used some audi style cheap led strips..
Replaced mirror by small bar mirrors.
