I just need 1mm, and it will not rub. So VX or standard 525 will do the job

Thanks everyone for helping I appreciate that

Will post results with new chain
Youíre welcome
The original chain for the 996 was....
94link DID 525 IIV 5/8Ē x 5/16Ē

Honestly guys , the man asked a simple question ,, leave your keyboard for 5sec & measure it ,, it’s not that hard.

petarr 2004 999: flat side is installed outside, like your picture showing.

xracer: old chain was veery loose and worn and it rubed also. but then I repaint area, and now also rub. old chain was 525HV. 23mm wide.

you can notice on picture how chain rub only when jump up. https://ibb.co/TBJFggb

chain rub veery slightly : https://ibb.co/2gcvXB9

miolta, how can I install it correctly ? I just put it on shaft and install retainer and two bolts.

edit: just tried both position for standard and JT sprockets. It was allredy in good position.

It seems 23mm chain is too thick.

Can you show photo of front sprocket and how its placed to axle? Also are you sure its correct sprocket? Do you have old sprocket so you could compare those, that they have same dimensions?

xracer could this possibly be old damage caused by an old flogged chain not noticed previously? from the side view i see no witness marks on the chain.

thanks ! mine is 23mm. between widest point on chain. That can make difference.

Also, anybody know if did 525HV is standard dimension chain for 996?
