Still confused on the size of the hex socket. I keep reading about using 14,17 even 18 ??? What is the confusion with this?
I think it's 14 - did it a while ago and have a long 14 allen and a long 12 but not the other sizes. The 12 is for the rear sprocket -so 14 is the ticket.

I tried a 14, it was too small. I think it has to be closer to 18mm. Waiting on confirmation.

It seems like from 14 mm and larger seem to fit, but luckily some of you have not stripped the filter yet? I would really want to know which it is before jacking it up.
I think I will call Ducati service to see what they say.

sorry, you're right. the later 4v models have the all plastic screen. pretty sure it's 17. not sure that i'd try to put 10nm on it. doesn't the blanking plug have a form on it to hold the screen in? i forget now, haven't had many of them apart.

the older screen with the steel end is 43nm.

know all wanker

Sorry for the slow reply...4 kids kicking my ass🤣

It’s 18mm & it’s not much more than finger right.

The other question is , how long does it have to be ? Would this work ? If the body of the socket fits into the hole where the filter is , it should work.

It should as long as that socket is not too big. Length is not an issue as you can just pop it on a 1/2 extension & turn by hand.
