Grippy Tank Stuff

I bought a couple of sheets of @TechSpec-usa material trying to make something that works for me. I came up with this to try next weekend for a track day in Houston.

The Monster has a funky shaped tank thatís not hanger off friendly. This actually comes closer to being where my legs need it than the off the shelf stuff. Weíll see.

Edit: I forgot the @ sign. This is my first time using it.

Yes, I know itís not pretty. Itís in beta testing.

OK. FIXED IT!

Well, it didn't work because that's not their correct member name. It's gotta be spelled right to work.

I tried some Stompgrips. The surface bumps are way to aggressive for me. Very grippy but I believe it could actually tear up my leathers. But again the issue with being precut the shape does not come around the back corners of the tank. On the sides of the tank helps with braking but doesnít help when cornering.

I have the TechSpec Snake Skin on my 848 and it works very well. Stomp grips on my race body work but I might switch that over too.

Um,... I'm sure it is functional, the PO of the bike I just bought did the same thing in the same way with the same stuff. I rode it like that a few times and the tape is in the right place.

But, um,... it is jarringly ugly, really screws up the beautiful lines of the bike. Hope you reconsider soon and work out something else - cut your own if you can't buy custom.

Sorry - I peeled mine off as soon as I could.

When bought:

A few weeks later (obviously kevlar crotch in my leathers ):
