2015 wsbk

Here's some interesting news from EBR. I thought they were down and out with the not-very-good showing from Yates and May last season. The rider lineup for the upcoming season is very interesting. I sure hope they can do better this year.

Interesting rider lineup. EB managed to find a rider even older than Aaron Yates (Larry has three months on Aaron). Larry looked good as a wild card at Laguna Seca last July. I wish EBR all the best. Now if EB would just get rid of those horrible mufflers.

I commend Eric on his choice of Larry for 2015. Yeah, his age may not play in his favor as a rider but, he's the best choice as a "player/coach" for the team. As the article went on to say Pegram is a great promoter as evidenced by the top shelf sponsors he's managed to keep year in and year out, despite the economic downturn and the debacle DMG made of road racing the last few years. Let's not forget his managerial skills in running a successful privateer team. All the best to Eric, Larry, Niccolo and the rest of the team.

Definitely. It's also a shrewd move on Eric's part, hiring a rider who also comes with complete infrastructure in place to run a team, therefore avoiding paying somebody else to do that job. Eric isn't doing it, someone's got to.

Also shrewd on Larry's part to build himself into that position. Shrewd business moves everywhere!

It depresses me to say this, 'cause I admire Pegram, but he's just not WSBK caliber at this point in his career. Erik needs a rider who can win in WSBK so he'll know for sure where his EBR1190 is in development. I don't believe Larry can give him that needed feedback.

If I were Erik and couldn't hire anyone with extensive WSBK experience, I'd refocus on World Superstock and/or the new MotoAmerica series instead. Larry could be competitive in those series

That's where Niccolo Canepa come into play. I don't see any reason for Pegram to be riding either. Maybe that was just part of the deal, cause Larry isn't ready to step off yet?
Maybe they will join Moto America once they get rolling. Would be a much better fit. EBR needs to get their shit together. Seems they are no-start, then shooting way over their heads.

As much as I respect what Larry has done on a shoestring (Ducati, BMW) supposedly he got the Hayes Yamaha and...

It may be time to open a track school.
