The procedure in BC, Canada seems to be; get it insured first, apply for collectors plates, wait up to three months, get plates and a rebate on the insurance. I think. I'm going to ride it without the fairing for a few weeks just in case there are any tweaks required then put the fairing on, take the pictures required for the collectors plates and send the application package in. BC's monopoly third party insurance company ICBC is not bike friendly.
