When you have the Lonelec cable ....

Use IAW Reader to read then save the stock bin somewhere safe on your computer.
By saving the bin you can always write it back to the ECU in. the future if you had some reason to do that.
Then with IAW Writer, write my bin from post 3.
You do not need Tunerpro and the XDF unless you want to modify values in various tables away from what I have done.

It is simple to read and write.

The first main thing is to have the correct cable.
This has the FTDI 232 chip in it.
The most common problem is people buying cables that claim to work and they often do not.
These usually contain a different chip and requires frigging around.

The second main thing is to read the instructions that come with the cable.
Namely - follow the instructions before plugging the cable/adapter into your computer.
Not sure about Win 10, but with earlier versions it was important to download the drivers rather than let Win "select" a driver.

If you are using a Mac and of course the OSX versions of Reader and Writer Apps, El Capitan and onwards is plug and play without having to frig with drivers etc.
Tunerpro is Win only, so I am running both XP and Win 10 via Virtualbox in my Mac.
This way I can modify bin files in Tunerpro then write from Win or OSX.

Interesting development -- I happened to recall a fella who used to race a 900ss ie bike a number of years ago so I reached out to him to see if he had information. He did race his bike with AHRMA and did quite well. Tuns out he "has a number of ECUs and a pile of maps from Ducshop (in the states)". I'll bend his ear on ideas as he is tuning the stock ECU as punch recommends and can walk me through the process. He also used a microtec ECU on one of his racebikes.

First challenge is the connection, then it is just a matter of content = an appropriate bin file!
